"If you are fortunate enough to get an appointment and see a GP, then the service is usually ok, depending on which GP you get.
However, what is completely unacceptable is that you cannot get a pre bookable appointment for over 3.5 weeks nor a telephone consultation for over 2 weeks. The receptionist decides whether you are urgent when you have to ring up at 8am (which means you have to divulge sensitive and personal information to a non medically qualified stranger over the phone) and then to be told by the non medically qualified receptionist they don't consider it urgent is really frustrating, particularly when you are poorly. You are put under pressure to accept inferior appointments with nurses at other practices ( accept this appointment within in 10 seconds or lose it) . Don't even bother ringing up to see a GP if its after 8am, you've got no chance. This appallingly inadequate system must leave many patients with no option other than to clog up the walk in centre or A&E. Just make sure you tell them you are there because your GP's receptionist says you are not urgent or worthy of an appointment for almost a month. I don't know how a practice with 10000 patients can operate such an inept system."
