"Just a short review to say thank you. Called the surgery on Wednesday morning at approx 8:10am it was auto answered with clear instructions as to what would happen and how the call would progress, the call was then picked up within 3 rings and I spoke with a lady who was very pleasant she asked my symptoms and I was expecting to be told that it would be a few days for an appointment, imagine my surprise when she said that I could see the Nurse Practitioner at 9:30am that same morning. Check in was smooth with the self check in told me the nurse was running 4 minutes late. Waiting room was not crowded at all and patients were being called and seen frequently to other rooms. I was called to my appointment only a few minutes after my appointment time and the nurse was just lovely, I am a nervous patient and she put me at ease and provided advice and treatment as needed.
I would not hesitate to recommend this surgery and staff, as those that I have been treated by over the last 6 years have been friendly and genuinely seem to care about providing the treatment or service required."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
