"I find the women receptionist very friendly and happy to help however the Male receptionist is exceptionally rude and let's the practise down as the face of the practise. He does not help, very quick to get you off the phone. I rang because I was enquiring about what should be a repeat prescription. After finding out it wasn't on repeat he tried to put the phone down. It was only when I said my enquiry was not resolved and I need to see a doctor regarding a prescription he said I can only get you one in two and a half weeks. However looking online, there were earlier appointments than this. He just didnt want to help! I was trying to avoid an unnecessary appointment taking up the doctors time. He could have at least passed the enquiry on to a doctor to see if the pill could at least be put on repeat. He is very rude and makes you want to change doctors"

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
