"So today is day 3 of ringing 01612125815 from 8am! At 8:40am after being cut off several times with the engaged tone and working my way up from 7th in the queue Iâm through!!! My tears of pain subsiding for a short moment until I was informed that yet again there was no one in the Salford area, let alone the Little Hulton practice I so regularly struggle to get an appointment at, that could see me and I would have to walk to a walk in centre in LEIGH! (She didnât say walk there but thatâs my only means of transport today). Or my other option of 111 after 6:30pm.
Now I canât fault some of the medical team at the Little Hulton practice when I do get to see them. It is simply the call handling staff whom think they have the equivalent medical degree, knowledge, expertise and experience to play god with an appointment system which has been failing for years. Okay okay policies and procedures yeah I understand that when this particular lady attended her training the scripture I hear so regularly has been installed in her brain but a little bit of empathy or consolation when I tell you that this is day 3 I have been attempting to obtain a medical appointment with anyone in the practice who can prescribe me a legal course of antibiotics for the infected mastoid cavity I am in excruciating pain with, pain I have not experienced on this level since I was a child awaiting surgery for this same problem, surgery that is imminent yet again. A little bit of sympathy, care or compassion when I tell you that I am also a insulin dependent type 1 Diabetic with thyroid issues and having this level of infection in my system is causing extreme difficulties managing and maintaining an acceptable blood glucose level.
âI can give you as list of walk in centresâ okay whereâs the nearest âLeighâ yes we have already established this and repeat âI can not get to Leighâ
Now the bit that might make your bums twitch. As a former CQC registered manager I have to ask myself is this service.....
Safe... if itâs safe to leave me in this state then no
Caring... once you get an appointment perhaps but getting passed reception/callbhandlers you have little dignity or respect left.
Responsive... well it isnât meeting my needs or those of others leaving the multitude of negative reviews on here.
Effective.... again once received care and treatment is good.
Well led... now I can not see how the leadership, management or governance within this establishment or itâs sister practices is assuring the delivery of high quality person centred care given the fact that care can simply not be received if you can not speak to a clinician of sort.
I honestly can not wait to receive a prompt response to this review. Until next time."
