"My son had minor Surgery and required some stitches removing 10 days later. We were sent to the other side of Wigan for removal of said stitches. I had to pick him up from school and it took almost 1 & 1/2 hrs to drive to the health centre for a 5.30pm appointment and then nearly 2 & 1/2 hrs travelling back - 4 hrs travelling time and another 1/2 hr wait at the health centre. Totally unacceptable!!! We have Walkden gateway just 3 miles away but we had to make this ridiculous 40 mile journey just because Boothstown Medical Centre only deals with Wigan and the staff obviously donât care about their patients. The medical centre just âassumedâ we had our own transport- what if we had to use public transport? One big complaint tomorrow- really,really poor patient care!"

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
