"Whilst I am aware of the Dispensary rules regarding prescriptions I do feel a little more understanding and flexibilty in applying them is required.
I collected my monthly repeat medication but hadn't requested a tablet which I take nightly, because of the hot weather I needed to take more than usual. So when I handed in my repeat prescription I explained what I had done and politely asked if I could have them now and was abruptly told that I would have to wait 2 days before they could be dispensed. As this was a Thursday it meant I would now go 4 uncomfortable nights without them, I again asked if I could if I could have them now or the next day, Friday. I was again told NO they are too busy despite 3 people working in the dispensary that I could see and nobody behind me in the queue.
I didn't ask for this medication lightly but that's how I feel I've been treated by the Dispensary staff. I don't complain lightly and have never felt the need before in close on 50 years being a patient in Meopham. But, it looks like I'm going to need to be patient and cross my fingers that I don't need the tablets for 4 days until Monday all for the sake of someone who didn't have time to take a packet from the shelf and print a label.
Both the Doctors and the Nurses at Meopham Medical Centre are extremely professional and offer a high standard of patient care and understanding which unfortunately doesn't seem to extend to the Dispensary.
I now hope my experience today at the Dispensary is taken seriously and not lightly."
