"I visited the surgery earlybin the morning as required an appointment with a Dr, luckily there was one available so I accepted and waited in the reception area. The automated check in was out of service so assumed that as the appointment was made and I was there that I would be called at the allotted time.
I waited 25 minutes past my appointment time so spoke to the receptionist who simply snapped loudly in a rude tone, 'well if you can't be bothered to check in how donwe know youare here! How ridiculous,when she booked the appointment and seen me sat there or all that time, I never left! What was I meant to do? Book the appointment turn around rejoin the back of the queue and check in! No initiative on the part of the receptionist, she seen me there all that time so could have checked me in or said excuse me and simply explained respectfully.
Seems that the receptionist's here just do what they need to do there is no civility or common decency' afforded in their communication with you, it's demeaning they way they treat you there's no acknowledgement when they see you waiting at the reception counter and they just speak to people with what feels like utter contempt. Its a shame management doesn't take note or feels this treatment is acceptable. Respect garners respect.
Once you see a Dr however all this changes and they really are worth their weight in gold."
