"I made a mistake with my prescription thinking it was the repeat ready to give to the pharmacy and not realising it needed to be checked by the doctor. I'm 20 years old, recently diagnosed with asthma so I'm not used to the different kinds of prescriptions yet. I usually submit requests online but as I had what I thought was the repeat already, I didn't think this was necessary. When I found out it wasn't I rang the surgery because I was leaving for holiday in two days time so needed it the next day. The lady on the phone was hardly pleasant but told me to come in and drop it off and she'd write an urgent request. When I got there she was absolutely horrible! She sighed and asked how long I'd been with the surgery and when I told her she yelled at me in front of everyone that it clearly says it takes three days to process and that I should've known. Well, she kindly held it up to the glass for me to see, of which I couldn't, because it is tiny, so she pointed it out again to me more clearly. Shouting at me isn't going to solve the problem and if it was impossible to process in such short time she could've told me over the phone. Instead she decided to yell at me that it takes three days to process in person. I made a mistake, excuse me for thinking I already had the repeat to give to the pharmacy but shouting at me will not solve anything. She's the most unkind, rude receptionist, I've never had a good experience with her and I will certainly avoid speaking to her in future. I've never been yelled at in my adult life, she surely wouldn't treat older people with such disrespect so why is it acceptable for her to yell at me. I am a member of the surgery like everyone else and I expect to be treated with respect and understanding.
