"Tried to get through to the Dockham Road surgery this morning 06/03/2018. Got as far as choosing options. Once I chose my option the line cut out. I tried more than 5 times, got asfar as choosing options 1,2 or 3 and again the line just cut out. I missed my opportunity to call because then I had to go work which meant I delayed in booking my appointment.

The reception staff are generally very good, polite and do their best but sometimes I can't get an appointment with my chosen GP for several weeks.

My GP is a well mannered, polite and more importantly -he listens! If the other partners were to do the same they may have a winning formula.

I should also mention that the GP's are restricted as to the type of therapies they can offer, which doesn't benefit the patient and therefore the patient ends up demoralised and using the same services that don't work -over and over which costs more in the long run.

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
