"I contacted the surgery and spoke on the telephone with reception and easily made an appointment to see the doctor of my choice at a time to suit me. I met with the doctor and following the initial consultation, which was full of empathy, i was asked to make an appointment for a further examination, and on my request reception found a vacant time only 2 days away. On the day of the examination, again the doctor was full of empathy and following the examination, I received a course of treatment with a follow up telephone appointment suggested for 1 months time.The doctor diagnosed the problem accurately and I am extremely pleased that the course of treatment was totally effective and I was duly able to book the telephone appointment in an easy & timely manner. The telephone appointment took place on the day specified, again in an extremely professional way with empathy, and my only observation to improve the system would be to advise of a time slot when the call might be made. Furthermore, I order my prescriptions on line and collect direct from the onsite pharmacy, make appointments over the phone, book myself in when attending the surgery, have blood samples taken, have face to face & telephone consultations and can say, I have always been extremely satisfied with the professional manner of all the staff I have encountered & the 2 doctors that I have seen have shown empathy, understanding and a high level of professional skill and knowledge."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
