"Phoned mid morning (30Jan) told I was 3rd in the queue (how good is that!)
Lovely receptionist answering phone said my "assigned " doctor at the surgery was doing emergency calls only.
Asked to explain my problem, (no intrusive questions asked) obviously had my notes on the screen and said I will get him to call you shortly.
Less than 30mins later gp called back and spent time asking in-depth questions about my symptoms etc just like it would have been if I had to go to surgery. Gave advice & opinion and then arranged for the different (heart) medication needed. They had to be ordered in but I picked them up from the on site pharmacy next day. All in less than 24 hours!
Despite some previous complaints on the site review section of....
1. phone not being answered
2. spending too long waiting for phone to be picked up
3. Being asked too many questions when you call in sick.
This is a review based on my experience - I feel it is a reflection of just how hard our practice is working behind the scenes to make things better for us 13,000 + patients - not easy with all the changes that have taken place last few years - including two previous surgeries now amalgamated."
